A lovely town, called Monreal, is located in the Eifel Region of Germany. This small town has only 770 inhabitants and is a hidden gem you don’t want to miss during your time discovering Germany. Wander around this village and feel like walking in a romantic, old filmset.
Monreal is a small town that is located in the Eifel Region of Germany. This village is a destination that is getting discovered by tourist that visit this low mountain range. The summer months are the busiest because that is the time this place has the best temperature.
However, during the off season it’s also a good time to visit Monreal. The town will be less crowded which is a huge bonus.
How to get there & Parking
Monreal is a hidden town in the mountains of Germany. This means that there is little to no public transport in this area. I would recommend to go with a (rental)car and drive to the town. You can park alongside the road for free.
Entrance fee
Even though this town looks staged because of its beauty, it’s completely free of charge. You don’t have to pay anything to walk around Monreal.
Do keep in mind that this is a village where people live and make sure you don’t leave garbage behind. Clean after yourself in order for people to experience this gorgeous town for themselves in the same way you did.
What to do?
Once you parked your car, get out and start to wander. Monreal is a small town so you won’t need a guide. Just explore and let your feet guide you through this magical place.
Everywhere you look you’ll find white houses with red stripes on them. There is also a river that flows through Monreal. Just keep your eyes open and have a lovely time.

How long do you need exploring Monreal?
Because of the size, I recommend you to make 1/2 hours free in your planning for this place. It’s small and you can see all of it within one hour. However, in the summer there are many restaurants open for a break so that can fill in some extra time while being there.
If you visit Monreal in The Eifel Region, make sure to plan some other things to do on this day as well. For example, you can go to Burg Eltz or visit The Geierlay Suspension Bridge. Everything together gives you a perfect day in The Eifel Region in Germany.

Best time to visit
The Eifel Region in Germany is a populair summer destination. However, this area is also perfect in the off-season. Spring and autumn are also good seasons for the Eifel Region because it will be less crowded. Do keep in mind that Germany has many types of weather and also a lot of rain.
My boyfriend and I visited The Eifel Region in the winter which is also a great season. We had almost every place to ourselves and the prices of the accommodations are lower.
