High in the mountains of Croatia, there is this hidden viewpoint, that still needs to be discovered by many. This hidden gem is called the Zrmanja Canyon Viewpoint. Walking up this view and being the only one there feels amazing. And you can experience it too.

Because of the many tourists, it can be hard to find a place that still needs to be discovered. But in this blog, I will tell you all about the Zrmanja Canyon, the best hidden gem in Croatia.
How to get there
So, you want to go to the Zrmanja viewpoint? Good choice because the view from this place is amazing. The canyon can only be reached by car. You can drive there with a (rental)car, or maybe you are on a roadtrip through Croatia with a camper. This is the perfect opportunity for a visit to this insane viewpoint.

Entrance fee
Visiting the Zrmanja Canyon Viewpoint is completely free. This place is in the nature and you can just walk up there.
Because it is the nature, nobody maintains this place. To keep it just as beautiful, don’t leve any trash behind. Everything you bring to the canyon, make sure to bring it back as well.
How to get around
So, you have two options. One, you can drive your car all the way up to the viewpoint. However, I don’t recommend this because the road is rocky and bumpy.
Option two is to park your car at the beginning of the path next to the road. There is a small parking space where you can park your car or camper. From here it’s a 10 minute walk to the viewpoint. By parking your car at the beginning, you’ll be sure your tires won’t break and you won’t get stuck high in the mountains of Croatia.
Once you have parked your car, you just follow the path. This only goes one way, so you can’t get lost. At the end of the path you will be greeted with the viewpoint that looks over the Zrmanja Canyon.

How long do you need at the Zrmanja Canyon viewpoint?
When visiting the viewpoint, I recommend having about an hour there. Walking to the viewpoint and back, will take 20/30 minutes in total. Walking around the viewpoint can be done in 5 minutes, but when you’re there, you better make the most of it and climb a little bit down and explore the area. Make sure to be careful where you step, because some parts aren’t official paths to walk on.

So when you decide to go to this canyon, I recommend to bring the following stuff:

Best time to visit
Visiting the Zrmanja Canyon in Croatia can be done the whole year, but you’ll find the best weather in the months May till Oktober. The sun will be out and you can enjoy your time there by walking slowly to the canyon. It can get really hot during these months so bring enough water to keep yourself hydrated.
